O Estúdio Campana and the Power Station of Art (PSA) present the exhibition “Impermanence – 40 Years of Estúdio Campana”, in Shanghai, China.

Founded in 1984 by the Brazilian design duo Humberto Campana (b. 1953) and Fernando Campana (1961-2022), “Impermanence” marks the first major exhibition of the São Paulo-based studio in Asia.

Co-curated by Marco Sammicheli, Curator of Design, Fashion and Crafts and Director of the Museo del Design Italiano at the Triennale Milano, and Gong Yan, Director of PSA; with scenography designed by studio co-founder Humberto Campana and graphic design by Maru Widen, the exhibition focuses on the studio's cultural production through objects, projects, drawings and works that best summarize the history, trajectory and insights of the practice.

The exhibition features over fifty pioneering pieces that represent and trace the history of thoughts and actions that anticipated artistic events, design solutions and urgent reflections on the coexistence between humans and nature. With the challenge of presenting four decades of the studio's production to the Chinese public, a Cabinet of Curiosities welcomes visitors into the universe of references from the Campana, from childhood to the beginning of the brothers' careers, including never-before-seen personal objects, original drawings and prototypes.
