After debuting in Milan and Shanghai, Estúdio Campana and Instituto Campana present "We The Others" in São Paulo on July 31st at SESC Pompeia for invited guests. The film by Francesca Molteni and Maria Cristina Didero brings the work and life of Fernando and Humberto Campana, addressing their work in the world of design as well as their social initiatives since the studio's founding in 1984. The brothers' pioneering approach Campana to design and art has highlighted them as a unique example in the industry. Starting with the cactus toys they created as children and extending to their most recent project in their hometown of Brotas – a vast park where they have planted 20 native tree seedlings and are building twelve green pavilions – the film aims to provide, through a series of interviews, and through the voice and presence of Humberto, an overview of the admirable lives of the two artists. Jun - June 2024
The first stage of the Park Campana was inaugurated in the presence of 300 guests on June 29, the date that marks the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Estúdio Campana. The Park's proposal Campana is to offer a cultural and educational space in which open-air pavilions connect science, the environment and art, encouraging respect for and preservation of nature. Eight green pavilions (out of a total of 12) were built within an area of 52 hectares and are connected by planting areas for local species of the Cerrado in transition, with four more planned for the coming years. An unprecedented project for the regeneration of biomes (Cerrado and Atlantic Forest) will be implemented by specialized scientists linked to the University of São Paulo, which will also be available to the public. O Estúdio Campana opened in June the exhibition “Impermanence - 40 years of Estúdio Campana”, at the Power Station of Art in Shanghai, China. The largest solo exhibition of the Estúdio Campana in Asia, "Impermanence" brings more than fifty pieces by Fernando and Humberto Campana that represent and trace the duo’s pioneering spirit and history of thoughts and actions, design solutions and urgent reflections on the coexistence between human beings and nature. The curators are Gong Yan, Director of PSA, and Marco Sammicheli, Curator of Design, Fashion, Crafts and Director of the Museo del Design Italiano at the Triennale Milano; scenography by Humberto Campana; and graphic design by Maru Widen.
